How we handle your information
The Safer Neighborhoods Initiative is a nonprofit organization. We collect only what we need to respond to you and to operate this website, and we never sell your information.
What we collect.
- Contact and partnership forms. When you submit a form, we collect your name, email address, organization if you provide one, the category you select, and the message you send us.
- Newsletter. If you subscribe, we collect your email address and a record of your confirmation and of any later request to stop receiving emails.
- Security information. To prevent abuse, our systems record limited technical information, including a hashed and irreversible form of your network address and your browser type. We do not store your raw network address.
- Analytics. We use a privacy friendly analytics service that does not set cookies and does not follow you across other websites. It records only aggregate, anonymous usage, such as which pages are visited. It does not identify you personally, and there is no advertising tracking on this site.
Why we collect it. We use this information to read and respond to your inquiry, to follow up about the partnership, question, or request you contacted us about, and, if you subscribed, to send occasional email updates about our work.
How the newsletter works. When you subscribe, we send a confirmation email and add you to the list only after you confirm. Every update includes a link to unsubscribe, and we honor those requests promptly.
Who we share it with. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only with the service providers that help us operate this website and manage inquiries and email, such as our website hosting, database, and email delivery providers, and only to the extent they need it to provide those services. We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it. We keep inquiries and subscriber records for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of our correspondence, and then we remove them. You can ask us to delete your information sooner.
Your choices. You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. To make a request, email contact@saferneighborhoods.io or write to us at the address below. We will honor reasonable requests.
